The Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library (FFRPL) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit established to support the Rochester Public Library’s strategic initiatives.

Donations to FFRPL are deductible for federal income tax purposes to the extent allowed by law. The Foundation is overseen by the FFRPL Executive Director and managed by a volunteer Board of Directors. FFRPL expands the Rochester Public Library’s community impact through fundraising, marketing, and programming. The Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library (FFRPL) conducts essential fundraising and provides valued programs to enhance and promote the Rochester Public Library. FFRPL also manages restricted funds that provide financial and supplemental materials support to eligible libraries in Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, Livingston, Orleans and Genesee counties.

FFRPL raises funds through:

• gifts to an annual fundraising campaign
• gifts for Capital projects
• special project grants from corporations, charitable foundations, government sources and individuals
• earnings generated by a permanent endowment/investment fund
• planned gifts made through wills and trusts
• income from the sale of used books
