About FFRPL

The Friends & Foundation of the Rochester Public Library (FFRPL) conducts essential fundraising and provides valued programs to enhance and promote the Rochester Public Library. FFRPL also manages restricted funds that provide financial and supplemental materials support to eligible libraries in Monroe, Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, Livingston, Orleans and Genesee counties.

• FFRPL helps fund the purchase of supplemental materials and equipment for MCLS.
• FFRPL also provides financial and supplemental materials support to libraries in seven counties, through restricted funds.

• Beginning in FY2021-22, we expanded our geographical reach for increased community impact. We now also provide supplemental materials support to 62 eligible libraries in the Monroe County Library System, OWWL Library System (serving Ontario, Wayne, Wyoming, and Livingston counties) and the Nioga Library System (serving Niagara, Orleans and Genesee counties), through restricted funds. Note: not all libraries/counties within these systems are eligible for funding.
• In addition, FFRPL manages the Harold Hacker Fund for the Advancement of Libraries, in partnership with the Rochester Regional Library Council (RRLC). The Harold Hacker Fund was established to further training and professional development for librarians and library staff throughout the five-county region served by RRLC; and to further innovative library projects and programs at RRLC member libraries, and member libraries of the Monroe County Library System (MCLS) and OWWL Library System.
